Part 3:
Stephen Hawkins-
Father Robert Spitzer-
Deepak Chopra-
Please Answer these questions:
1. What seemed to be the most interesting part of these discussions.
2. Please describe the viewpoint expressed by each of the presenters.
3. How do you think these opinions affect our society?
1. the most interesting part of the discussion is the different views from all 3 parties how all 3 were created the same way yet they have different views on how they were created.
ReplyDelete2. stephen hawkins- he believes that god was not needed for the world to be created and creation came from nothing
father robert spitzer- he believed that god created the universe
deepak chopra- he believes in the bing bang theory because there was no time before creation so he says.
3. they effect our society because people are going to believe one of the persons point of view and their point of view can affect the way that they live their life.
The most interesting part of the discussion was that not one of the three individuals denied the fact that there could very well be a God. Even Stephen Hawkins, a man of science, claims there could be a God, there is just no need for one. The viewpoints of the three individuals were all unique. Hawkins believes there could be a greater supernatural being but does not thing there is a need for one for modern mathematics and science have explanations for the questions of the universe. Father Spitzer, being a Father, believes in God and his creation of everything. As for Chopra, he in a way combines the previous two opinions by believing in scientific ideas about the origin of the universe but believing in spiritual aspects of life. These opinions effect society because it opens peoples minds to a variety of ideas about our existence. It helps prevent closed minded thinkers.
ReplyDelete1. The most interesting part of these videos, to me, was that they were all so confident in their beliefs when non of them have been proven yet, and they are all very hard to prove.
ReplyDelete2. Stephen Hawkins believes that the m-theory will someday prove that something can be made out of nothing. But, he does not say that there is no God.
Father Spitzer, hence "father", believes that God is who created all. That he is the only one who can create something out of nothing.
Deepock Chopra cannot decide on which belief is more accurate so he has chosen to believe in the scientific and spiritual aspects of the creation of life.
3. These opinions effect society by making people really think about how the earth was formed. It makes people chose their belief and stick with it, backing it up with all the support they can, hoping or praying that they are right.
1. The most interesting part of these discussions is that no one really knows how the first cell or spark of life first was created or started. These people all have different views on how the universe was created and are firm in their beliefs, any anyone of them could be right.
ReplyDelete2. Stephen Hawking- He believes that the there may or may not be a God but that is unnecessary to finding out how the universe was created because there is a scientific explanation for everything.
Father Robert Spitzer- He believes that people should be open to the possibility of a creator (like God) because there has to be a cause for things to be created out of absolutely nothing.
Deepak Chopra- He believes in a little bit of a mixture of the previous two’s opinions. Chopra has not entirely decided which theory is greater than the other.
3. These theories affect our society because they make us question how the universe was created and to decide for ourselves which theory makes the most sense and which theory to believe in.
Nice post- It's pretty interesting how all three are extremely intelligent but have differing viewpoints...
Delete1.) The most interesting part of the discussion was how all three justified their point of view of where life came from with such certainty and facts.
ReplyDelete2.)Steven Hawking believes that the world was created from nothing through the big bang and that God wasn't involved. Father Spitzer says a God had to begin the universe because everything needs something to start it. Deepak Chopra has chosen to believe in both theories.
3.)For many people these opinions confirm or deny the belief in a God. Believing or not believing in a God shapes almost every aspect of your life.
1. The most interesting part of the discussion, to me was that although no one really knows how the first spark of life was created but all three men were so confident.
ReplyDelete2.Steven Hawking believes that there could be a God but one was not needed to create life.
Father Spitzer believes, as a priest that God created the universe.
Deepak Chopra believes in both God and the scientific theories of how life was started, he stands somewhere in the middle.
3.These theories shape a persons life an often effect what people you hang out with or even where you live or go to school. People who believe in God's creation of the universe usually or the Scientific theories greatly shapes who you are as an individual.
1. the most interesting part of these videos to me was that all three man we're so into their own beliefs. They all were so sure that they were right. I also thought it was interesting that they all, even Stephen agreed that there might as well be a God. This kinda caught me off guard because I always thought he was in complete denial of any existence of God.
ReplyDelete2. Stephen Hawking- Even though he didn't deny there was no God, he did how ever say that there is no need for one, and there is other ways life could have been created. He also believes strongly in the m-theory theory and that it will one day defined.
Father Robert Spitzer- he believes there is one God who created all and that without Him there would be no creation and creation would be impossible.
Deepak Chopra- is still in the dark about his beliefs but takes a mixture of this from all religions. One can say that hes agnostic.
3.Those theories affect society today because they allow us all to be open minded and think beyond our everyday routine thoughts. It also allows us to get more in depth with ones own beliefs.
